Cranford

It was the first time I read the Mrs. Gaskell’s novel. Cranford is a common village and it’s one of the fascinations. Some events happen in Cranford, however, it’s not so big events. Most of novels have some big events and their story develop. Considering that, I think Cranford is a unique story. Even if love story is my favorite genre of story, the story drove me crazy. The story tells us that everyone has kindness and thoughtfulness. The peaceful village sometimes fills with grief because of deaths. They made me surprised because they suddenly happened. It’s one of features of the story that men are saviors. For example, it’s Peter. Miss Matty was bankrupt and had little money. People who live in Cranford helped her to make her living even if it was unsatisfactory. Then, her brother suddenly appeared and he became rich person. It’s unbelievable but it’s typical of Cranford. Hi! I'm Gisele and I'm from Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. I'm 40 year-old and I have a husband and four children; tow pairs of twin. I hunt for dinner everyday so my occupation is hunter. Firstly, it's Mario brothers' Pizza and Pasta. The cost is not so expensive. The dishes are Itarian. There are pasta and 24 pieces pizza. They are like mama mekes. It costs 15 dollers per 2 pizza. There is a lunch baffe from 11:30 p.m. to 14 a.m. It's convenient because it tooks only three minutes walk from downtowm.

Secondly, it's Miyazu. The cost is reasonable for us. The dishes are Japanese; okonomiyaki, sushi, sukiyaki, yakiniku and so on. They are so healthy food and low calorie. And it's good for vegetarian. It was voted most popular restaurant. It locates downtown. If we use parking, we can get four dollars off coupon.

Thirdly, it's Pico de Gallo. The cost is reasonable. The dishes are Mexican; taco, fried ice cream, tortilla chip and so on. They are all hand made foods and there are 20 dishes. It's good for a party. There are no parking so we have to use parking nearby. It took 20 minutes from downtown.

Finally, it's Mandarin Palace. There are 60 Chinese dishes. The cost is expensive but we can enjoy rich cuisine. The waiters wear costume. The chef wan an iron chef. The atmosphere is like an empire time. (200 words, total 12,377 words)

Last summer vacation, I went back to my hometown Ebino in Miyazaki. I stayed there for a month. Now, let me tell you about three memories in my hometown.
First is a driving car. I had a driver licence, so I wanted to drive so much in Kumamoto. However, I have no car in Kumamoto. My grandfather lent me his car so I used it during summer vacation. There were no CD player in his car, and I had to drive without music.When I really wanted to listen music, I used my cellphone. I often visited my grandparents house because I couldn't see them frequently. In addition, my family were not in my house weekday times. I wanted to be with people.
Secondly, some KGU friends of mine visited my hometown. We went on a Ebino sightseeing trip. We visited Coca cola factory, my grandparents' house and so on. We went to Kuruson ravine. The river's water was really cold. When we played in water, I slipped and fell. Then my lower of half body was got wet. My cellphone also got wet after that, and it sometimes stopped working. It was a bad accident but good memory.
Third is a reading book. I had no part time job there, so I had much free time. Then I decided to start reading books. It was "Twilight saga." Do you know Twilight saga? It was a love story of a human girl and a vampire boy. The series is made up hour parts. I have finished reading three of them. It took only four days to finish reading the first one. I think it's good for me to keep my English ability.

My favorite country

France is one of my favorite countries. It has attracted me for a long time and there are many things what I want to do in France. In particular, there are three things what I really want to do in France.

  Firstly, I want to hear some orchestra performances in Paris. My favorite comic is “Nodame cantabile” and it’s a start of knowing about orchestra. The main character, Nodame, studies music at the Conservatoire national superieur de Musique de Paris. She often goes to some concerts and many kinds of classical music are introduced in the story. It’s possible for me to go to a concert and hear a live performance in Kumamoto. In addition, I have a few MD which are recorded various pieces of classical music. However, I want to hear a real performance at a French concert hall. Even if we have few knowledge of music, the concert would entertain us. It is said that there are a lot of concert halls in Paris. So we can know a schedule from seeing many advertisements when we walk a street. From thinking about it, it makes me excited. So what I want to do in France is go to concert hall and hear an orchestra performance in Paris.

  Secondly, I want to see French historic structures. World history was my major of geography and history in my high school days. Then I learned about French classical architectures; Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque architectures. For example, they are Chartres Cathedral, Nortre-Dame, Palace of Versailles and so on. My teacher taught us the difference of them in each dates. I want to compare them and see for myself. Also there are other historic buildings which I learned. For example, one of them is in the Place de la Bastille. The Bastille was the beginning of the French Revolution on the 14^th of July in 1789. It’s interesting for me because my birthday is July 14^th. I have only seen them in pictures of text book. It would be exciting me if I really see them. According to these reasons, I want to see French historic architectures which I learned in my high school days.

  Thirdly, I want to eat French bread in France. One of my teachers said it was really different from eating French bread in Japan. Even if we make the bread by using ingredients which are made in France, it is impossible to make the bread which is made and eaten in France. She said the French bread was delicious because of French atmosphere and it makes us feel tasty. Though there are many famous French cuisines; beef steak or roast chicken, I want to have simple French bread in France. It is one of French attractions even a loaf of bread makes us happy.

According to these reasons why France is my favorite country, France has a lot of fascinations. I’m suffered from people around me, and their information makes me excited. It would be gratifying me when I actually visit France sometime. (507 words, total 11,882 words)
