My circle activities

On last Saturday and Sunday, there was a training for Takuma festival in a Nishigoshi accommodation. My circle members will sell tapioca at Takuma festival. Then we trained to make tapioca and soft drink.

It was interesting and enjoyable training to me. Some seniors had good ideas and it was to make a smoothie. It was fascinating to a friend of mine and me that the process of making smoothie by using a mixer. Then we took pictures by our cell phones many times. Her cell phone had good camera and she took better pictures than me. We made not only smoothie but also various kinds of tastes. For example, it was milk coffee, hot chocolate, strawberry, vanilla and so on. My favorite taste was vanilla which was made from condensed milk because I like it very much. After we made them, we held a sampling session. We discussed about points for their improvement. I hope that we could make use of the points to the festival day.

After that, we made our store signs and containers for vendors. Then I talked to some freshmen who I had never talked. I was glad to talk to them and became friends with them.

I had a good time with my circle members. I’m looking forward to Takuma festival. (217 words and total 7,596 words)

Romeo and Juliet

The reason why I read Romeo and Juliet is this story is important to read (the?) twilight saga. There are many quotations of Romeo and Juliet in twilight saga. Then I wanted to know and read it deeply. Edward and Bella are really similar to Romeo and Juliet except their death.
At first, I thought Romeo was very coward and effeminate. However, he was a skilled swordsman. It was cool but his power became one of causes of tragedy. His love for her was passionate and her love for him too.
It was sad to me that the Capulets and the Montagues settled their differences after Romeo and Juliet died. Even if they did earlier, Romeo and Juliet could continue to live and love each other.
I didn’t know that it was not written as literature for reading but playing. Then, I want to watch the movie both Leonard Whiting and Leonardo DiCaprio played. (218 words)

My Favorite Movie

One of my favorite movies is “High School Musical 3: Senior Year.” It is the third work in the High School Musical series and the first and second ones were broadcasted on Disney Channel in the United States. The cast is Zac Efron who played Troy and Vanessa Hudgens who played Gabriella. They are lovers the same as the role. The director is Kenny Ortega. It is not just a musical youth movie. In my view, the movie’s main theme is to find meanings of high school after high school students overcame their conflicted feeling. There are three songs which well illustrate it in the movie.
The first is “Scream.” It is sung by Troy who is the main character. He likes basketball and belongs to a basketball club. He also likes playing and singing. In addition, he loves Gabriella and he wants to be with her for the rest of his life. The song seems to mean that he is likely to be crushed by expectations from his father and want to run away from them. In other words, he is conflicted between the idea and reality. The song well describes the conflicted feeling of high school students.
The second is “Can I Have This Dance.” It is a prom song and sung by Troy and Gabriella with dancing. She thought that it was the best way to break up with him but she keenly felt the importance of him after she separated from him. They sang the song after they took their decisions. The prom is a rite of passage into adulthood. The conflicted feeling in high school life is important to become an adult. The prom in the movie shows that they overcame their conflicted feeling and matured mentally. The song is very calm and fantastic by comparison with other songs. It also means that they are not like children but they are near adults.
The third is “High School Musical.” It is sung by the senior high school students at the commencement exercise. My favorite scene of the movie is their dance to the song at that time. The positive song surely makes viewers happy. At the same time, they dance with refreshed and smiling faces so it is impressive for me. The song describes the students’ own conclusion about the meaning of high school. High school is the best step from which to go forward into the future and graduation from high school is not the end but the beginning. They can only make a first step toward their future if they experienced and overcame their hard feelings.
These songs are features and essential elements of the movie. They help us to understand easily how the characters feel. Moreover the actors dance and sing very well so viewers can enjoy not only the story but also their dancing and singing. It is popular with teenagers but it will delight adults in the same way. After we watched it, we can realize the meaning of high school. They are the reasons why it is my favorite movie. (507 words)

Cha-men

Yesterday, I made a cha-men of "Shikairou." Shikairou is a famous restaurant in Nagasaki and birthplace of chanpon. When I went to Nagasaki, my family was going to have a lunch at Shikairou. However, it is a popular restaurant so we had to wait more then one hour. Then we decided to give up to wait in a queue. I really wanted to have the cuisine. Then my mother bought a restaurant quality food to go for me.

It was easy to cook and delicious. I want to have it at Shikairou someday. (92 words)
